PHD Scoops ‘Media Network of the Year’ While Spark PHD Takes Gold at Spikes Asia
PHD has triumphed at APAC’s biggest awards show, Spike Asia 2014, taking home the top honour of ‘Media Network of the
Year’. The coveted accolade was thanks to having the strongest awards showing at the festival – including two Gold, one
Silver and one Bronze – with New Zealand’s own Spark PHD winning Gold for its Tui ‘Catch a Million’ campaign.
Commenting on the wins, Susana Tsui, CEO, PHD APAC, said, “I'm excited and proud to hold the newly created title of
Media Network of the Year. It is reflective of the change in the practice of communications where the industry and
clients demand media and creative agencies alike to innovate and strive for creative excellence. As we celebrate this
phenomenal result, the entire PHD team is enthused to charge ahead to raise the bar in delivering even better work for
our clients.”
Spark PHD Media Director, Amanda Cater, says the Spark PHD and PHDIQ teams are delighted to be recognised for Tui ‘Catch
a Million’ – a campaign that truly captured the attention of our cricketing nation and beer drinkers over summer.
“Working together with Saatchi & Saatchi NZ and Apollo Nation, we brought to life an idea that put the Tui brand in front of its target market at every
televised cricket game in New Zealand, inspiring and incentivising purchase, and producing record sales for the client.
Ultimately, our job is to deliver world-class, results-driven campaigns for our clients, and we’re thrilled to have won
Gold,” says Cater.
Cheuk Chiang, CEO, APAC, Omnicom Media Group, said, “The passion and hard work of our teams combined with the drive to
produce world class innovation for our clients have made this achievement possible. To win this accolade at one of the
world’s most esteemed creative shows is quite an achievement and one that we are all very proud of.”
