PRESS RELEASE
18th August 2014
What Are You Wearing?
What are you wearing? It’s a very personal question. What we choose to wear says a lot about who we are and our outlook
on life. And this is the question posed by the ReCreate team in their Kickstarter campaign video. It immediately grabs
our attention and elicits a response.
As Camille mentions, ReCreate are producing designer clothes that appeal to the ‘socially aware, environmentally minded
and the fashion conscious’. You really can have it all with ReCreate.
When we got up this morning, each of us had a look through our wardrobe and decided what the outfit of the day would be.
Most likely we didn’t think about the process that created each of those garments. There have been so many horror
stories from the garment factories of the world, where workers are forced to endure appalling conditions. Long hours, no
ventilation, monotonous tasks, little and in some cases no pay. It’s not a pleasant subject matter, but it’s one that
ReCreate wants us to think about.
Through their Kickstarter project ReCreate are both raising the question and giving us a solution. Production of their
first range of everyday luxury basics will take place in a sewing centre that they’ve helped establish in Cambodia.
They’re proving that it’s possible to have quality design and ethical production of garments that will become wardrobe
staples.
The project is just a week away from the deadline and with nearly 90% of the goal already reached, the team are
confident about achieving a successful campaign.
