Long-term MYOB Partner wins award
New Zealand’s leading business solutions provider MYOB recognised achievement among its Partner community at its annual Partner Connect over the weekend, with business advisors from around the country honoured for their support of New Zealand’s SME sector.
The prestigious ‘Partner of the Year’ award was presented to Tauranga-based business consultant Helen Webley, of Bay Business Support, at the awards evening at Shed 6 in Wellington on Saturday, August 9.
Ms Webley established Bay Business Support 12 years ago and says receiving the award was a “real honour”.
“I feel so humbled and surprised that my simple little business has won this award. There are so many people within the MYOB community, who have so much knowledge, that it is through their support that I am able to provide a high level of service.”
Bay Business Support is an installation, sales and support service for MYOB users, covering the Bay of Plenty.
Ms Webley says the success of the business is down to their customer focus. “Our clients appreciate that we talk in layman’s terms and they feel comfortable asking us questions. We often talk with their accountants to ensure that we get the best results for them.
“I have a fantastic, dedicated team member, Shelley, who does a lot of the training and hands-on work for me. I have total confidence in her. We do a lot of remote work and always offer a quick turnaround for our customers.
“The secret to our success is our personal approach. MYOB is the only product we deal with and we know it inside out. I do believe we will continue to have a lot to offer our customers. There are many changes and developments in the software coming up, so we have really exciting features to promote to our clients.”
MYOB Business Division general manager James Scollay says technology plays a key role in the support our partners can offer businesses, which is one of the key reasons Ms Webley was chosen for the award. “Helen and her team have recognised the huge benefits that online accounting offers small businesses and have been really proactive in moving their clients to the cloud.”
“Helen has been a well-respected member of our partner community and we are honoured to present her with this well-deserved award. Bay Business Support continue to impress us with its commitment to client service, strong market growth, and dedication to the cloud.”
Other awards and winners from other categories include:

• Best Sales Results – Lynley Averis, Accounting Training
• Best Online Presence – Maria Mullane, Aspire Training & Business Solutions
• Most Improved Partner – Joanna Monteith, Consult Ltd and Steven Lucas, SL Computing & Consulting Services
