Stretton selected to showcase at London Fashion Week
Annah Stretton
Fashion designer Annah Stretton is one of five international designers selected to showcase her collection at this
year’s London Fashion Weeks opening event – Splendours of the Commonwealth 2014.
“What a wonderful opportunity to showcase the frocks that we love to create - considering so much of the business that
we do daily is based around wedding's and occasion, this is the perfect forum and platform the get our Avant Garde
juices flowing” says Stretton.
The event will take place at one of London’s exclusive hotels, The Mayfair on Monday 8th September in aid of The
Commonwealth Countries League Education fund (CCLEF), a secondary education sponsorship theme for girls. Stretton will
be showcasing a 10 piece Avant Garde, bespoke bridal collection that showcases and extreme colour pallet of orange,
purple and turquoise. The collection is very textual from floral application akin to beauty in nature, to voluminous
crunchy metal fabrics, faceting light like crumpled paper.
Following last year’s success Splendours promises to be the hot ticket in the lead up to Fashion Week. Confirmed guests
and celebrities already include the Diplomatic community, influential women representing UK businesses, fashion
enterprise and global women’s campaigns.
The Splendid occasion showcases talented designers and models from fashion industries around the Commonwealth and
consists of a catwalk show with music and dance performances from cultures and countries across the Commonwealth. The
evening will be topped off with a fast moving auction and prize draw, featuring many ‘money can’t buy’ auction lots and
prizes, with Stretton donating one of her dresses for the cause.
Although Annah will not be able to attend the event in London, her daughter Sam, will be there to represent Annah and
the Stretton label.
