Drinks Writer Jules van Cruysen launches kiwi CRAFT on Kickstarter
25 July 2014
Drinks writer and editor of the upcoming magazine Eat NZ Jules van Cruysen released into the wild his first Kickstarter
campaign on the morning of Thursday the 24th of July for kiwi CRAFT, a guide book to New Zealand beer, breweries, brewers and beer tourism.
To find kiwi CRAFT just go to Kickstarter.com and search kiwi CRAFT!
"I believe that the New Zealand brewing industry needs a book like kiwi CRAFT. It will be a well deserved snapshot of the ever changing, dynamic craft beer industry." Says Jules van Cruysen
There are over 100 commercially operating breweries and brewing companies and kiwi CRAFT will feature the beers of all of these (as of August 2014) and will contain general beer information and regional guides
to encourage beer tourism.
"I believe that kiwi CRAFT will be beneficial to brewers of all sizes as it will encourage avid craft beer consumers to discover new breweries and
benchmark them against their favourites. It will also help emerging drinkers to discover craft beer for the first time
by helping them to discover the beers that are right for them, breaking down some of the knowledge barriers that
currently discourage emerging consumers to try new product."
kiwi CRAFT will also come with an android or ios app that will have abbreviated brewery information, tasting notes and guides to
beer tourism in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Nelson as well as guides to the rest of the North and South
Islands.
Jules needs to raise $15,000 to produce 750 copies of kiwi CRAFT to successfully fund the project, if he does not reach this goal within 30 days he will receive nothing. In the first 24
hours it has managed to raise $757 or 5% of his $15,000 goal..
"I'm delighted by the support the craft beer community has given me thus far."
