Upper Hutt retailers offered opportunity to enhance display skills with Eye for Detail
Upper Hutt City Council has organised for Alison Watts from Eye for Detail to inspire and assist Upper Hutt retailers
with displaying their products in their stores.
UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 10 JUL 2014—Upper Hutt retailers have the opportunity to gain further window display and
visual merchandising skills when Alison Watts from Eye for Detail comes to town in August. Alison will be in Upper Hutt on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 August offering one hour in-store
consultations. This follows on from a very successful, free, workshop run in 2013 at which Alison volunteered her time.
These consultations have been organised by Upper Hutt City Council in response to feedback received from the retail
community and will be facilitated by Alison from Eye for Detail. The cost for a one hour, in store, consultation is $50 (including GST), which is significantly reduced from Alison’s
standard consultation rate.
The consultation will look at store layout, visual merchandising, and window displays. Alison will offer constructive
feedback as well as practical advice and solutions. This is also makes a professional development opportunity for staff.
Improved window displays that are regularly changed enhance the city centre experience and encourage more sales for
retailers.
“Window display really is the most underutilised area of retail. Your windows are working for you night and day, 365
days of the year, and they should be eye catching and encompass everything you are as a business. You need to look as
good as you can,” says Alison.
