SENORITA AWESUMO TO SHOW AT NZ ECO FASHION EXPOSED 2014

This July Dunedin zero waste life style brand Senorita AweSUMO will be launching the first zero waste manufacturable
collection at New Zealand's second ECO Fashion Runway event on the 27 July 2014.
New Zealand Eco Fashion Exposed is the perfect platform to launch the next wave of sustainable fashion innovations from
Senorita AweSUMO. This collection embraces a zero waste lifestyle by showcasing the possibilities created from
preconsumer off cuts combined with zero waste pattern making techniques. The goal of this collection is to create a zero
waste basix range that can be manufactured by the current fashion system.
Senorita AweSUMO empowers and encourages ethical and conscious consumers with unique environmental fashion.Utilising
every piece of fabric to make a practical local solution to a global problem. Garments up cycled from local landfills,
op-shops and commercial off cuts, striving to get maximum use out of environmentally costly textile manufacture
processes.
Senorita AweSUMO is Fiona Clements, Kai Tahu, Pakeha. She grew up in Waitati, Dunedin. Connected closely with nature and
environmentally minded, her beliefs are reflected in her sustainable fashion design.
A belief that designers can serve their community by providing solutions to problems they can identify. The garments
created are beautiful today, and look forward to a brighter future.
New Zealand Eco Fashion Exposed runway show takes place this July 27, and will be held at the Sacred Heart Performing
Arts Centre in Lower Hutt. As part of a 4 day event schedule.
