Sudima Auckland Airport First Hotel in New Zealand to become carboNZero Cert™ certified.
Sudima Auckland Airport is delighted to announce that it has achieved the major accolade of being the first hotel in New
Zealand to attain carboNZero certification.
The hotel has set the bar very high for its sustainable building design since its opening in 2011, not resting on its
laurels it has continued to develop its environmental practises.
It has committed to managing and reducing its emissions. It is also the first carbon neutral hotel in New Zealand to be
certified through an internationally accredited greenhouse gas programme, carboNZero, having measured its greenhouse gas
emissions in accordance with ISO 14064-1:2006.
The hotel features fridge-less rooms estimated to significantly reduce its carbon footprint by 236 trees per year.
Accommodation rooms employ a Chilled Beam Air-conditioning unit, which is unique to Sudima Auckland Airport Hotel in
this part of the world. As well as being extremely energy efficient, it provides twice as much fresh air as any
comparable system.
Rooms also offer paperless Compendiums and the entire property and building structure is designed to harvest rain water
in order to recycle and filter for non-potable use.

Since the Hotel opened for business in 2011, it has enjoyed great occupancy levels with its convenient location near the
domestic and international airports.
