New software from Solution Dynamics aims to halve the cost of business mail
AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND, 22 May 2014 - With the price of postage increasing from 70 cents to 80 cents on 1 July, NZAX-listed Solution Dynamics (SDL) wants businesses to halve the cost of their ‘ad hoc’ mail.
‘Ad hoc’ mail is any mail sent in quantities of less than 1000 items which, because it is not bulk, does not attract NZ Post’s bulk mailing rate. Studies suggest that, on average, 30% of corporates’ mail is ad hoc, particularly among those operating from multiple locations.
NZ Post’s 1 July price increase will take the average total cost of non-bulk mailed business documents to between $1.80 and $1.90, after accounting for the cost of postage, printing, envelope and inserting.
Solution Dynamics’ (www.solutiondynamics.co.nz) Déjar Mail software reduces this to between 80 and 90 cents which means the production, printing, processing and posting can all be undertaken for around the price of a stamp.
A bank or insurance company that sends, for example, 5 million documents by mail per year is likely to send more than 1 million documents ‘ad hoc’ – Dejar Mail will save them more than $1 million annually through having all those documents on a bulk rate.
In addition to effectively halving the cost of ad hoc mailing, the software allows individual businesses to review and approve documents prior to mailing.
Solution Dynamics managing director Nelson Siva says, “With the cost of physical mailing continuing to rise it’s been our goal to develop new technology to come to the aid of the old. Déjar Mail promises a quantum difference to the cost-effectiveness and flexibility of physical mail for businesses.”
Dejar Mail is ideal for businesses, from banks and insurance companies (that have multiple locations requiring their own short run communications) through to small to medium businesses (SME’s) where the hassle of the mailing process is largely removed. DejarMail is a cloud based application that does not require any desk top software installation.
Déjar Mail’s user management features allow for differing levels of access and control of the mail production and dispatch process. The user needs only a web browser to access all the functionality the system offers. This also means the look and feel of the Déjar Mail web application can be branded to suit each organisation.
Documents can subsequently be stored in Déjar Archive, which allows search, recovery, viewing and re-delivery simply by logging into this web based application. This is an important functionality for handling customer queries.
The inspiration for Déjar Mail has been the early international success of Solution Dynamic’s Composer content creation and publishing solution software. Composers’ clients include one of Europe’s largest airlines that uses it to manage its 20 million member loyalty club communications.
