Christchurch Agency Travels into the Future of Web
Digital agency Cabbage Tree Creative have embarked on a new chapter for their business with the launch of a brand new company website. The redesigned site www.cabbagetree.co.nz/digital-agency was made to better reflect the future direction of the web- and to echo the forward-thinking path the company is travelling along.
The new responsive website has used the minimalistic design structure and flow that is trending online.
Cabbage Tree Designer Johnny Lineham said ‘simplicity’ was the overall goal for the site.
‘It’s easy to overdo things and get your message lost in amongst everything. Our new site is straight to the point but conveys the huge depth and breadth of skills Cabbage Tree has.’
Agency owner and Managing Director Lawrence Smith wanted to ‘practice what Cabbage Tree preached.’
‘We want to lead by example so it was a no-brainer that we needed to revamp our own website to showcase the future of web design.’
The agency, which Smith affectionately refers to as the ‘Cabbage Patch,’ was established 18 years ago. In that time the company has worked through massive cultural shifts with the internet- from its underground roots right through to its centralisation in everyday life.
Now in 2014, the web is arguably more powerful and relevant than ever for business and Smith is ensuring his company is at the forefront of future online frontiers.
‘We are more open, experimental and innovative than we have ever been, and it’s exciting to think about what we will come up with next!’
Cabbage Tree has established itself as a leading builder and marketer of some of New Zealand’s largest regional tourism websites, among other significant businesses- and not just Kiwi.
Last year Canadian Ski Resort, Panorama Mountain Village in British Columbia, asked Cabbage Tree to redesign their website www.panoramaresort.com/ , which was released in October 2013.
A global-outlook is part of the company’s future agenda, but their hearts remain with local tourism and business.
‘Our cabbage patch is grounded in this country, and always will be. I built this company because I love New Zealand travel, and 18 years on I still do.’
