Cambridge Christmas Festival Society gives $25,000 to local charities
Last year’s Cambridge Christmas Festival was once again a great success and the Cambridge Christmas Festival Society
Incorporated is pleased to give $25,000 to Waikato charities.
The organisations that will benefit are:
• Cambridge Community House to purchase curtains, sunshades and a data projector for the community room.
• Resthaven Trust for a morphine pump, games and a Wii Fit for its dementia unit.
• CCS Disability Action Waikato for new drapes in the respite care unit.
• Epilepsy Foundation NZ to go towards the training of an epilepsy assist dog for a person living with severe
epilepsy.
• Make-A-Wish New Zealand for a television for a young girl in Raglan living with cancer.
• Cambridge Stroke and Rehabilitation Club for outings for members.
• Bellyful to help towards meals for new mums and people who are ill.
• Bird Rescue – Avian Rehabilitation Trust to assist with vet bills and food for the rescued birds.
• Cambridge Brass Band to contribute towards maintenance at the band hall.
“The members of the Cambridge Christmas Festival Society would like to thank the public who attended last year’s
festival and volunteers, schools and business people who support us throughout the year and during the festival period.
Their contribution makes it possible for locals and visitors to enjoy the Cambridge Christmas Festival each year and for
us to help local charities with much needed funds,” says Janet McComb, Cambridge Christmas Festival Society President.
The 2014 Cambridge Christmas Festival will be held from Thursday 4 December to Thursday 18 December. This year’s theme
is Christmas Near and Far with trees from around the world.
