Carrello del Gelato appoints Rachel Nicholls as Business Development Manager, Auckland
Wellington-based premium gelato producer ‘Carrello del Gelato’ has appointed Rachel Nicholls as its Auckland business
development manager to grow the company’s share of the greater Auckland market.
Company founder and chief executive Nathan Meyer said, “Auckland is the country’s largest gelato market and we’ve been
looking to increase our share of that market for some time. Rachel’s appointment is key to achieving that goal. A recent
investment in plant has meant we are able to lift production which has been capped at 1,200 litres per week.”
Prior to joining Carrello del Gelato, Rachel was National Sales Manager with Tommy & James where she increased the number of Nice Blocks stockists from 10 to over 200. She has previously been a personal
banker with ANZ Bank, and has worked for the Radio Network. Rachel has also appeared in a number of short films,
television commercials and feature film ‘Crackheads’ and won Best Short Film Actress for her role in short film 'Blind
Mice’ at the Rialto Channel NZ Film Awards.
Carrello del Gelato supply over 80 leading New Zealand Cafes, restaurants and food outlets. They have a national supply
agreement with Hell Pizza New Zealand and their gelatos are available in New World Supermarkets. In Auckland Carrello
del Gelato is in Nosh Food Markets, Hell Pizza, Passion Produce, Capitol Cinema, Lido Cinema, and will shortly be
available at Auckland Airport.
Nathan Meyer said, “With production constraints behind us, Carrello del Gelato is looking to become available
nationwide. Auckland is the logical place to grow our business which is why we’ve appointed Rachel as our Auckland
business development manager.”
Carrello del Gelato is dedicated to producing innovative and unique recipes that are unsurpassed. The range boasts over
100 delicious flavours most of which are gluten-free with the entire sorbetto range being not only gluten-free but
