Sophie Pascoe Wins Four Years of Silver And Gold
World record holder and renowned Kiwi swimmer, Sophie Pascoe, is no stranger to gold and silver, having won a combined medal count of ten from the 2008 and 2012 Paralympic Games. Now, Pascoe is surrounding herself with gold and silver jewellery of a different kind, inking a four-year sponsorship deal with Christchurch-based retailer, Silvermoon.
“Christchurch-born Sophie is one of New Zealand’s most well-known sporting professionals and is a determined, courageous young athlete, as well as a role model and ambassador for many,” says Simon Thwaites, Silvermoon founder. “What people might not be aware of is Sophie also has a love for fashion and jewellery.”
Out of the swimming pool, Sophie has talked of her passion for fashion and her dream of one day having her own line of clothing. But, it won’t be sportswear, she dreams of designer gowns and loves dressing up.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with Silvermoon as I love fashion and accessorising, almost as much as I love swimming!
“The past few years have been an amazing journey for me – it’s great to be able to work in areas outside of sport that I also have a passion for.”
“We think Sophie is the perfect ambassador for our brand,” says Thwaites, who recently took back sole ownership of the Christchurch-based business. “Our long-term commitment to each other will mean we can support her efforts in this year’s events as well as at the 2016 Paralympic Games.”
Silvermoon was started in 2000 and now has 12 stores around New Zealand. The retailer offers a mall experience with a mixture of branded product and their own hand-chosen imported items.
