A Taste of Britain Tiffin
It’s all about Great Britain at the Langham Auckland this April.
The Royals are in town and beautiful new Palm Court now serves the finest afternoon tea in town, so the luxury hotel has created a delicious Brit-inspired Tiffin Afternoon Tea to celebrate.
Tiffin Afternoon Tea, started by Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford in the 1840s and first served at The Langham, London in 1865, continues to surprise and delight guests every afternoon in the sumptuous surroundings of Palm Court.
Here, the most exquisite little treats arrive on silver stands and fine Wedgwood china only to be devoured within seconds.
So throughout April, The Langham Auckland will thank Britain for this wonderful tradition and more, with a special British afternoon tea menu.
There’ll be decadent treats from coronation chicken to jam roly-poly puddings, all on Wedgwood china, and matched with the world’s finest teas.
With clotted cream and homemade jams such as strawberry and Champagne and orange and whisky marmalade accompanying a selection of tea brewed by New Zealand’s one and only master tea sommelier Benjamin McManus, this is easily the best afternoon tea in town.
Experiencing this Taste of Britain will also put you in the draw to drive the exhilarating Jaguar XF for a week. A true driver’s car and distinctively British, “the Jaguar XF offers customers powerful performance and agile and responsive control with a sleek look to match,” says New Zealand brand manager Paul Ricketts.
With this in mind, The Langham Auckland’s executive chef Volker Marecek has created a taste of Jaguar, bringing to life the luxury and seductive nature of the car with an indulgent Jaguar XF-inspired mini trifle with dark milk chocolate, custard cream, chocolate mud cake and Port wine figs.
It doesn’t get more British than that.
This special British afternoon tea will be served daily at 11.30am and 2.30pm from April 1-30 in Palm Court. To make your booking, email tlakl.palmcourt@langhamhotels.com, phone 300 2924 or visitwww.langhamhotels.co.nz.
