BEC Feed Solutions Appoints New Zealand Team
BEC Feed Solutions (BEC) has appointed a New Zealand-based team responsible for driving business growth and market
presence in the NZ animal feed sector.
Trina Parker will head up BEC NZ as Country Manager, with key accountability for fostering new relationships and
developing existing associations with NZ feed manufacturers. Jennifer McCarty will provide technical product support and
field sales services in her role as Technical Services Officer.
With a collective 20 years’ experience in animal nutrition and health, ingredient procurement and regulatory controls,
the Auckland-based team will supply high quality, animal nutrition products to the New Zealand market. Using existing
channels and new partnerships, the team will service a broad spectrum of the agricultural market including New Zealand’s
thriving dairy industry, plus the calf rearing, horse breeding, pig, poultry, dry-stock and companion animal sectors.
Brett Antonio, Managing Director of BEC, says that given New Zealand’s unique rural landscape it was essential to
appoint an experienced, local team.
“Ms Parker and Ms McCarty are highly regarded in the NZ animal feed sector and we are fortunate to have them on board,”
says Mr Antonio.
“Their combined knowledge, understanding and experience in the New Zealand feed and livestock space will be integral to
our success in New Zealand,” he adds.
Ms Parker has a solid background across the agricultural industry with strong relationships in the feed, poultry and
regulatory sectors. She has previously worked with Tegel Foods, as well as several New Zealand agricultural businesses
and trade associations, including the feed manufacturers, egg producers and poultry industry federations. Ms Parker’s
strong regulatory background and ingredient knowledge means she is well-qualified to provide BEC customers with guidance
and advice relating to regulatory and animal feed quality and safety standards.
Ms Parker says she is looking forward to working with customers to deliver high quality feed products and improve feed
efficiency in the country’s agricultural sector.
“We are committed to working closely with farmers and the agricultural community to ensure our products contribute to
the optimum health and performance of animals,” explains Ms Parker.
Equipped with a BSc in Animal Science, Ms McCarty is well placed to provide technical product advice to BEC customers.
As Technical Services Officer, she will support and facilitate the transfer of information to ensure customers fully
benefit from the effective use of BEC products. Ms McCarty previously worked in feed formulations for NRM Feeds, which
is the largest multi-species feed producer in the country.
“The scope of the role makes it a challenge but also a very exciting opportunity,” says Ms McCarty.
