Italian trip inspires expansion into Auckland
Nathan Meyer, founder and chief executive of premium gelato producer ‘Carrello del Gelato’, has just returned from an
all expenses paid trip to the Sigep exhibition in Rimini, Italy. Sipeg is the world’s largest gelato expo. Nathan was
part of an international delegation invited to the exhibition (and the first New Zealand company invited), where he
gained exposure to the latest industry innovations which he says it has been “invaluable”.
Back in the country and armed with fresh inspiration, Nathan has big plans for Carrello del Gelato including expanding
into the Auckland market. Established in 2004, Carrello del Gelato is a Wellington-based business with stockists
throughout the central North and South Island. For the first time the company has employed an Auckland-based sales
representative and has already begun to make an impact in the country’s largest gelato market.
With an unrivalled track record in delivering the highest quality and most authentic gelato in the country- Auckland is
welcoming the Carrello del Gelato brand with open arms; talks are underway with a number of high profile sites in the
region and you can find Carrello del Gelato products in store your local Nosh Foodmarket.
The Carrello del Gelato team is dedicated to producing innovative and unique recipes that are unsurpassed. Ingredients
are key to the authenticity and quality of the product; decadent Belgium chocolate, New Zealand milk and cream,, rich
Dutch cocoa powder, vanilla extract from Tahiti, locally grown berries from Te Horo and fine artesian water from Petone,
Wellington. The range boasts over 50 delicious flavours most of which are gluten free with the entire sorbetto range
being not only gluten free but diary free as well.
Carrello del Gelato is available in 1L and 125ml retail packs and 5L packs for wholesale customers.
