David Hisco announced as Chair of charity The First Tee

Children's charity The First Tee today announced its new Chairman will be David Hisco. David is currently CEO of ANZ
New Zealand and has taken over the chair from The First Tee NZ founder, Craig Heatley.
The First Tee is a charity which aims to teach children strong core personal values and is delivered both in schools and
golf clubs. The charity began in the USA, and has targeted over five million children across schools and golf clubs in
America. Since its establishment in NZ in 2005, it has continued to grow reaching more children each year.
The programme has had a profound positive impact on children, as well as introducing them to the game of golf which they
may not have otherwise come into contact with.
Craig Heatley said, “I’m excited to have David as Chairman. It has been an honour to have been the catalyst in getting
The First Tee established in New Zealand and seeing over 10,000 kiwi kids through the programme. But we now have
ambitious plans for the future and David is the perfect person to lead these. As we raise more funding, we can take it
to more schools and golf clubs across the country. We are hoping all golfers across New Zealand help us drive this
programme further, by supporting us in our regular fundraising activities.”
David Hisco said: “I’m excited to be able to get behind something that gives children a good foundation for life as well
as introducing them to a fun sport. New Zealand is renowned for its many affordable and accessible golf courses across
the country, so to bring golf and children together like this is a great way to teach core personal values and open the
door to a sport that can be played all through their life.”
