Ken Williamson and Carlos da Silva receive Institute of Directors’ Fellow Award

The Waikato branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) announced today that Waikato businessmen, Ken Williamson and Carlos da Silva, both received the organisation’s Fellow Award.

Ken Williamson is the Chair of both the Momentum Foundation and Te Rau Aroha Papakinga Trust. “Over the past thirty five years Ken Williamson’s name has become synonymous with community. He contributes to all sectors of Waikato across age groups, commercial and not for profit businesses. There would be very few governance practitioners who have such a wide portfolio of governance roles while still actively engaged in a complex and challenging day job.

“Carlos da Silva’s governance career is equally impressive. He is well-known for his ability to focus on what needs to be achieved at a practical level to meet a company’s strategic targets. His financial acumen allows him to quickly grasp a comprehensive understanding of a company’s business model and ask the difficult questions that allow a board to provide insightful direction.

“On behalf of the Institute of Directors, we congratulate both men on their Fellow Awards and wish them all the best as they continue to excel in their governance careers.”

The Waikato branch of the Institute of Directors is one of the most active in the country with over 400 members.
