People’s Choice Awards: Celebrating New Zealand product excellence
Kiwis are a clever bunch and we make some fantastic products. New Zealand product excellence will be celebrated this year with the Buy NZ Made Campaign running their first ever People’s Choice Awards.
The Buy NZ Made campaign began in 1988, encouraging people to buy and sell New Zealand-made products, locally and internationally.
The campaign - featuring the iconic kiwi in a triangle logo - is celebrating its 25th anniversary. This milestone is one of the driving forces behind the People’s Choice Awards.
Buy NZ Made Manager Trina Snow is excited by the range of products already entered.
“We have a great range of products already nominated, from businesses of all sizes. All five award categories look set to be well represented.”
The five product categories are;
1. Most iconic New Zealand-made product/brand
2. Most innovative New Zealand made product
3. Best New Zealand-made product on the world stage (export)
4. Best new product (launched in 2012 or 2013)
5. Most loved New Zealand-made product
“It’s free to enter and businesses don’t have to be members of the Buy NZ Made campaign to be nominated.”
Once all the product nominations are in, it will be the general public that decides the four finalists in each category, by online voting on www.buynz.org.nz.
Participating businesses will also have posters and voting buttons to publicise the Awards to their own customers.
Nomination forms are available on www.buynz.org.nz. Nominations close on Friday 6 September.
The People’s Choice Awards will culminate with a classic Kiwiana-themed black tie function at SkyCity on Thursday October 31.
