Navigator seeks talent pool for stronger organisations, better outcomes
A New Zealand start-up with an eye on international markets and a vision for creating better outcomes for organisations and their communities, people and customers is scouting for New Zealand-based and international consulting talent.
Commercial, community, and public sector leaders in today’s environment want experienced professionals to support execution of their plans and leverage the potential of their people and resources.
The Navigator initiative, launching at the beginning of September, delivers specifically to a growing interest in the value of collaboration and partnership to ensure a more cost-effective and satisfying outcome for organisations and their stakeholders. The strongly Kiwi-oriented company will also deliver services to iwi organisations and match New Zealand entities with international partners.
With the right steps, government, private sector, community, SME and iwi organisations have a very real opportunity to execute more effectively, get better outcomes, reduce costs, and strengthen their capabilities and culture.
The company’s success depends on developing a large, virtual team of specialists across a range of industries so it can deliver the right person for every organisation and project. It aims to attract a growing cohort of skilled professionals and specialists interested in commanding their own hours.
Principal Partner Nick Alexander says:
“For stable and truly effective partnerships, careful preparation of partners is required and that includes strengthening and building internal capacity. We deliver advice and training. We mainstream what should be good business practice. For example, Māori protocol shouldn’t be important to entities because they want to partner with iwi corporates; it should be important because it is part of being a New Zealand company.”
“In the same way people within organisations who are aligned on values, vision and purpose gear toward target outcomes, so too do parties to a well mediated partnership based on common purpose and values and supported by trust-centred relationships between decision makers in both organisations.
“We are taking a different approach to consultation. We are about embedding skills and knowledge in our clients’ DNA. We will provide the necessary support for their people to grow and deliver on their target outcomes, which includes ensuring organisations are sufficiently aligned to deliver. In many circumstances, this may include removing unnecessary systems and processes.”
Navigator is strongly committed to unlocking and enabling local knowledge so local people, through their organisations, can take ownership of their solutions, so is seeking applicants for consultancy roles New Zealand-wide.
Navigator is driven by a partnership and advisory group of 11 professionals. They are specialists and entrepreneurs with experience across all levels of government, commercial enterprise, NGO, international aid and iwi organisations.
“Our expertise is deep and diverse. Our partners and advisors are specialists in organisational establishment and capacity building, social housing, environmental management, international and community development, commercial start-ups, corporate organisational development, corporate social responsibility, tourism, negotiation, partnership and stakeholder engagement.” said Nick Alexander.
“Importantly though, we have a common purpose – to help build stronger organisations leading to better outcomes for people, profit and our environment. We want to support our clients to leave a legacy of success and achievement.” he added.
