Radio New Zealand has been selected as a finalist in the international World Summit Awards which honour excellence in multimedia creativity and promote the world’s most innovative online applications.
The recently re-launched Radio New Zealand Website www.radionz.co.nz is a finalist in the e-media and journalism category of the 2013 awards.
The World Summit Award judges focus on the identification of innovative projects that add public value and increase visibility on the international stage and Radio New Zealand’s website has been identified as project that demonstrates the benefits of applying information technology for the development of New Zealand society at large.
Radio New Zealand has applied new technologies, production methods, and processes to ensure that essential public broadcasting services are universally and freely available on all cost-effective delivery platforms.
Radio New Zealand programming is now available wherever, whenever and however audiences around the world choose to access it.
New Zealand has participated in the World Summit Awards since 2003 and this year’s winners will be announced after final judging takes place in Estonia in late October.
