Whittaker’s and L to launch a classic Kiwi combo
Whittaker’s confirms the imminent launch of Whittaker’s L chocolate, which will see two of New Zealand’s most iconic brands join forces to create a uniquely Kiwi range of chocolate.
Whittaker’s kicked-off the launch of Whittaker’s L chocolate with a public display of “the accident that New Zealand has been waiting for” – a Whittaker’s delivery van sporting the brand’s iconic logo was ‘crashed’ into the iconic L bottle statue in Paeroa. It reflects the advertisement for the chocolate that is on the Whittaker’s Facebook page and is due to run on television.
Whittaker’s Marketing Manager Holly Whittaker said fans of L and Whittaker’s would find out this Wednesday exactly what to expect in the new range of chocolate.
“The Whittaker’s van and the L bottle scene was about bringing together two iconic Kiwi brands as a bit of fun for the local community and our fans on Facebook. We know how proud Paeroa is of L, so we wanted to give locals an early hint of what they can look forward to.
“Whittaker’s had permission for our plans to do something fun with the L bottle, and do a bit of gardening to set up the surrounding scene. There is no damage to the L bottle and we are ensuring its surroundings will be completely back to normal, said Ms Whittaker.
Hauraki Mayor John Tregidga said “I discussed it with Whittaker’s advertising firm and we decided it was a bit of harmless fun that I could go along with, which people would enjoy. L is very special to Paeroa, and feedback from the community suggests people are excited about the partnership with Whittaker’s.”
Ms Whittaker said “We’re thrilled with the new Whittaker’s L range. We make a wide range of chocolate, and we are constantly developing innovative new chocolate flavours for our customers.”
Whittaker’s L chocolate is made of Whittaker's 28% cocoa white chocolate infused with the essence of L and bursting with popping candy to give it real fizz. It will be available in 250g Blocks, 50g Slab Singles and 12 packs of Mini Slabs nationwide from Wednesday 17 July.
Established in New Zealand over 100 years ago, Whittaker’s is a family-owned company that is proud to have become an iconic New Zealand brand. L, another Kiwi icon, was first made in the late 1940s.
