Auckland’s Best-Dressed Cakes Make a Grand Appearance
If you thought you knew what an attractive cake looked like, think again. Shore City announces the 2013 Art of Cake Awards, from 20 June to 11 July. This will be a competitive exhibition of ultimate creativity and artistic cake decorating excellence from Auckland’s hottest cakers.
Five premium New Zealand cake artists have been selected making the competition fierce. Finalists include Bella Cupcakes, Cake Couture, Chocolate Earth, Miss Melicious and Sweet Bites Cakes.
Inspired by the theme haute couture, The Art of Cake Awards will allow the selected cake designers to reveal their grand designs on 20 June at the Art of Cake Awards launch at Shore City, and will be judged over three weeks by public vote.
To vote, public must head to Shore City and view the Art of Cake Awards exhibition.
Final votes will be tallied and the winner will be announced on 11 July.
Additionally, public ranging from serious sugar crafters to first-timers will get the chance to learn how to master the art of cake decorating from some of their favourite artisan bakers as they host cake craft sessions at Shore City.
