Ziplock bags set to revolutionise Kiwi sugar market
Kiwi brand Cane Fields is transforming the New Zealand retail sugar market with the introduction of re-sealable, ziplock
packaging for its 750g range.
The brand’s ziplock technology is a first for the New Zealand sugar industry, and replaces traditional paper and
non-sealable plastic packaging.
Natural Sugars managing director, Hamish Gordon, says the Kiwi market is outdated and sugar packaging has looked the
same for as long as anyone can remember.
“Cane Fields new ziplock range means customers can store their sugar in its original bag, rather than decanting it to
another container once home.
“That means no more messy granules in the pantry and, instead, an eye-catching and attractive re-sealable package on the
shelf.”
Hamish says times have changed, and consumers are now more demanding and sophisticated when it comes to the look, feel
and efficiency of what they’re buying.
“We’ve invested a significant amount to ensure the re-packaged Cane Fields sugar range meets those needs.”
The newly-packaged range includes white cane sugar, caster sugar, raw sugar, brown sugar, and icing sugar and is
currently stocked in Countdown nationwide and selected New Worlds and Pak N Saves in the North Island.
