Whitecliff Changes Landscape with New Range
A new range of ‘Landscape’ wines has just been launched as part of the much loved Whitecliff family of wines.
The 2012 Landscape range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Shiraz.
Like Whitecliff, Landscape wines are approachable, fruit-forward and easy-drinking, consistently delivering enjoyment and great value.
Winemakers have carefully selected the best fruit from quality vineyards and crafted the wines to enhance the natural characteristics of the fruit, ensuring consistent quality across the range.
Landscape wines are available from supermarkets and other stores throughout the country.
The winemaker’s tasting notes for the 2012 Landscape range are as follows:
Landscape - tasting notes
Landscape Sauvignon Blanc 2012
Pleasant weight and textures, soft acidity with a fullness through the mid palate. The citrus zest flavours linger pleasantly.
Landscape Pinot Gris 2012
Aromas of pears and spices, dried apricot with hints of Turkish delight and rose petals. Flavours on the palate display spicy pear with hints of ginger and apricot. A fine, fresh acidity brings life to the wine and enhances the texture. Landscape Chardonnay 2012
The aroma is typified by peaches, apricots and stone-fruit. There are hints of melon, with creamy and nutty nuances. Clean, with good intensity and persistence. The fruit flavours of the aroma deliver with some intensity. The palate features peaches and cream, with a slightly toasted nut finish. The wine has good length and a smooth satisfying finish.
Landscape Merlot 2012
Lifted fruit aromas of plums and dark berry fruits with hints of spices. The palate displays luscious berry fruit with good textural aspects and supple tannins. It finishes with savoury and earthy notes.
Landscape Shiraz 2012
Lifted aromas of cassis and spices with black pepper notes. The palate displays ripe berry fruits, chewy tannins with a great mouth feel.
Landscape Pinot Noir 2012
Aromas of plum, cherry-stone, and spices abound. There is sweet fruit on the palate with flavours of cherry, red berries, and spices. The structure is soft and supple, and it finishes with a velvety texture.
