New World Regent Shopper Thrilled As She Wins Big
Eighty-one- year old Whangarei resident Mary Marshall has had her share of car troubles lately. But all of these issues
were forgotten when she learned she had won a brand new Ford Fiesta.
A New World Regent shopper, Mary Marshall has ended up with much more than her usual groceries after shopping at the
town’s local supermarket, winning the Ford Fiesta in a nationwide promotion run by New World and Fonterra Brands.
Mary, who was thrilled to receive her prize on the ‘Find Your Fortune’ game show on TV2 last night, is the second of
four lucky winners of big prizes on offer in the promotion.
“I feel so lucky to have been a part of such a competition and to win a Ford Fiesta is truly the greatest surprise. I
have actually had car troubles recently and it’s been a real headache so this win is perfect,” says Mary.
“It was such a special experience being flown to Auckland to collect my prize and everyone was just so friendly. I’d
like to also give a special mention to the staff at New World Regent who have never failed to impress me with their
outstanding service.”
Mary was born in Whangarei but moved away and returned to the community nine years ago. She has three daughters, six
grandchildren and three great grandchildren, all who are over the moon with her big win.
New World Regent owner-operators Todd and Lilian Leathem are also very excited about the win and delighted that one of
their shoppers scooped up one of the prizes.
Todd says; “We’ve had a blast running this promotion, and we’re thrilled to be giving this fantastic prize to Mary, who
is a really deserving winner. This just proves that this can happen to anyone, even in our tight-knit community.”
The promotion commenced on Monday February 4 and will run until Sunday March 3, with customers who use their Fly Buys
card and purchase two participating brands from New World stores nationwide, automatically entered into the draw.
Each of the four lucky winners has the opportunity to win the biggest prize of one million dollars cash. Other prizes
the winners are guaranteed to walk away with include either the Ford Fiesta car, a $15,000 Fisher & Paykel whiteware package or $10,000 cash.
