Release No. 56
Perry Metal Protection seeks clearance to acquire CSP Coatings
The Commerce Commission has received an application for clearance from Perry Metal Protection Limited (PMP) to acquire the CSP Coating Systems (CSP) division from Fletcher Steel. The application from PMP also includes a divestment undertaking.
Both PMP and CSP operate galvanising plants in the North and the South Islands. Galvanising is the process by which steel is immersed in molten zinc to create a protective coating layer.
In considering the application, the Commission’s role is to determine whether the acquisition would harm competition in the market to the extent that there would be a substantial lessening of competition.
A public version of the application is available in the clearances register.
