Graham Dyer to be Chief Executive of Wairarapa DHB and Hutt Valley DHB
Graham Dyer, currently CE of Hutt Valley DHB will be appointed as Chief Executive of Wairarapa DHB and Hutt Valley DHB,
and will take up the position on 22 December 2012.
Mr Dyer has been Chief Executive of Hutt Valley DHB for the last 2.5 years. He has held a variety of positions in the
health sector over the last 19 years, including Chief Operating Officer and finance, information technology and planning
and funding roles.
Bob Francis, Wairarapa DHB Chair says Mr Dyer has, with fellow CEs Mary Bonner of Capital and Coast DHB and Tracey
Adamson of Wairarapa DHB, been a strong force in supporting the Sub-Regional Clinical Leadership Group and advocating
for closer working relationships between the DHBs to support quality care.
“This very much will be a seamless transition for Wairarapa staff, with Graham and Tracey taking the next two weeks to
work closely together to ensure continuity of arrangements, before Tracey leaves on 21 December,” says Bob. “Discussions
about the next stages of bringing together executive and hospital functions will resume in mid-January, and will follow
good process as consultation is required.”
Virginia Hope, Chair of Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHBs says the Hutt and Wairarapa Boards also recognise the
impact of the Chief Executive having accountability for services across the two DHBs.
“This appointment demonstrates a new way of working not just for the Chief Executive, but also for our Boards and many
of our clinical and corporate teams across all three DHBs. We are entering a new era of healthcare provision and
management with a stronger emphasis on the triple aim of improving the patient experience, improving the health of our
shared population, with it’s many connected communities, and making best use of our resources,” she says.
