Designer drinking bottles join the NZ crusade to water the world.
What do you get when you cross an inspiring New Zealand humanity model with the talents of this country’s most vibrant fashion designers? The answer is a beautiful sustainable solution to hydrating the water needs for many in need in Uganda.
The colourful team at WORLD has designed something unique and sustainable in support of the The Village Project – a designer aluminum water bottle that can connect any Kiwi to being part of a passionate crusade to share and teach those in need.
The Village Project was founded by New Zealander Emily Parsons, after she returned from rebuilding communities in Uganda with Watoto - a childcare programme set up to rescue a child and rebuild the village around them.
Inspired by the idea of communities from opposite sides of the world physically helping to improve quality of life, Emily set up a group of willing and able Kiwi bodies from her own local village, Waiheke Island.
The Village Project’s most recent plight has been to implement The Rain Harvesting Model. The initiative to teach Ugandan builders not only how to make their own water tanks, but also how they could turn it into a self funding business model to sustain themselves into the future.
The success of The Village Project has seen the launch of the Titirangi Village Project and most recently the Britomart Village Project. WORLD have designed a series of brightly coloured visions of hope to help The Village Project with the fundraising efforts of getting all the supplies needed for the Rain Harvesting Model to continue its work in 2013. Retailing from $18 each in WORLD stores now or buy online at www.thevillageproject.org.nz/store/ with all proceeds to the cause, these are a great way for individuals to be apart of an evolving movement from our end of the globe.
“The charitable efforts of the Village Project are an inspiring story and WORLD wanted to help the cause by making people smile through vibrant colours and a fun spirit. Charity should be something that we all indulge in with positive and happy emotions, and that is hopefully what the drink bottles will instil in every sip from them!”!!!!!!
