Francis Group JV Extends Partnership with NHS Institute
A Wellington based company, Francis Group, has become one of two providers licensed to deliver “The Productive Series”
of health system improvement programmes in England on behalf of Britain’s National Health Service Institute for
Innovation and Improvement (NHSI).
Francis Group’s joint venture company in the UK, Shaping Health International, has signed the licence agreement.
Under the terms of the licence, Shaping Health is one of only two companies accredited to deliver a wide range of health
service improvement products on behalf of the NHSI throughout the National Health Service. These include Productive
Ward, Productive Leader, The Productive Operating Theatre, Productive Community Services, Productive Mental Health Ward,
Organising for Quality and Value, and Think Glucose.
Francis Group chairman Stuart Francis says, ‘This is a big deal for us, being chosen by the lead agency for health
system improvements in the UK to deliver their quality improvement programmes. It means we will be growing our UK base
significantly over the next several months.’
Francis Group’s UK Executive Director, Dr Paddy Austin says, ‘This extension of the delivery partnership with NHSI is a
welcome endorsement of the quality of our work by world leading innovators. The highly regarded Productives Series fits
very well with our current Performance Improvement services, and we believe they will enhance the services we can offer
our clients.’
Shaping Health is already exclusively licensed to deliver Productive General Practice to more than 3,000 GP practices in
the North of England and on the South-East Coast. They can now offer this extended series of Productive programmes
across the whole of England.
Shaping Health has a highly experienced consultant team, including people with NHS backgrounds and strong clinical or
managerial experience. They will be delivering the Productive series with a pragmatism based on their experience in
organisations similar to those they will be working with.
Francis Group’s quality and performance improvement work in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand focuses on
effective clinical engagement, the use of sound evidence and sustainable capability building. Stuart Francis says, ‘This
most recent extension to our partnership with NHSI complements and strengthens the value we bring to our clients and is
testament to the expertise within our group,’ says Francis Group’s Chairman, Stuart Francis.
