Sofitel Auckland becomes French house of High Fashion
10 August, 2012 – The new Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour will be the most glamorous destination in the city for Fashion Week, with the hotel displaying six garments from French
designer Christian Lacroix during the festival, as well as hosting a range of stylish events for the most discerning fashionistas.
It is only fitting that the very French Sofitel hotel should play host to designs by the world-renowned couturier who
has dressed the likes of Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Uma Thurman and most recently the ambassadors at Sofitel So
Bangkok. His sumptuous and very theatrical uniforms for the boutique So Hotel will proudly be on display in the hotel’s
lobby for all to enjoy.
The Sofitel has been selected to provide an exclusive designated area for designers, VIPs and media during the Festival,
so all the most beautiful people in town will be there. The hotel will also be offering ‘Tea with Lacroix’ - a French
high-tea’, fashion-inspired cocktails and a sumptuous small plates menu throughout the week.
Guests will be able to enjoy the day’s highlights from the collections displayed on large Samsung LCD televisions. This
footage will also be projected on the hotel lobby’s signature water feature so that guests can be completely immersed in
the excitement of the event during their stay. Glowing mannequins will add that unique factor to the lobby’s main water
feature.
For the ultimate glam lifestyle, the Sofitel is offering a special Fashion Week package for two people including 2
night’s accommodation in the Prestige Suite, transfers to and from the hotel in the Sofitel Jaguar, dinner for two in
Lava Dining, a bottle of Perrier Jouêt Champagne, breakfast daily and a make-over with your own personal shopper and
