Snapper works with ABnote TSM to deliver world class Touch2Pay services
ABnote is supplying the Trusted Service Manager (TSM) that will power the Touch2Pay with Snapper Mobile solution. Touch2Pay with Snapper Mobile turns your mobile phone into a fast, convenient and secure payment device.
The Touch2Pay service is a 2degrees and Snapper joint venture that was launched in May 2012.
ABnote is now providing the TSM solution to support the delivery of Touch2Pay with Snapper Mobile in New Zealand. “We are very pleased to be working with the teams at both Snapper and 2degrees to deliver this ground breaking project. Snapper is leading global innovation as the first transport ticketing company to release this service to the public. Which puts them at the forefront in providing the tools their customers need to make everyday purchases quickly and conveniently” says Nicholas Ficinus, ABnote’s CEO.
Snapper is delivered right to your mobile
The technology developed by ABnote means that it is easier than ever for customers to enjoy the convenience of Touch2Pay with Snapper Mobile. “ABnote’s contribution to the service means that the Snapper payment application on a Touch2Pay SIM can be downloaded within seconds to your Touch2Pay capable smart phone” says Miki Szikszai, Snapper’s CEO.
Quick and Convenient
Snapper CEO, Miki Szikszai says “Snapper is New Zealand’s most successful contactless payments platform. Our vision is clear – we are here to make everyday payments easier. NFC is a natural fit with this vision and Snapper is committed to driving innovation in all areas of contactless payments.” “The launch of Touch2Pay with Snapper Mobile earlier this year exceeded our expectations. Extending our existing partnership with ABnote means we can make Touch2Pay with Snapper Mobile available to more customers and handsets than before.”
Szikszai goes onto say “We expect more customers will want to enjoy the ease of convenience of Touch2Pay with Snapper Mobile, New Zealand’s first commercial mobile payments platform. ABnote plays a vital leadership role in bringing this innovative technology and contactless acceptance to the New Zealand market.”
Creating the Future
Mobile Payment technology or NFC may sound simple but it’s not merely a matter of replicating the process used for contactless cards. ABnote has invested considerably in Research and Development to reach this stage and can now support a range of NFC handsets with the world-class security that our customers expect and depend on. 2 degrees will soon enable this feature on all of their Touch2Pay smart phones.
Collaboration is the Key
“You need the best partners collaborating at the highest level in order to develop and release world-class technology. In this launch we are pleased to be part of the first commercial available NFC initiative in New Zealand, where Snapper provides the transit, payments and card services, 2degrees the smart phones and SIMs and ABnote the TSM Services and Over The Air (OTA) provisioning” says Ficinus.
