Affordable Solar Energy is the Solution
As energy consumers brace themselves for price rises of at least 5.5% this year, one South Island firm is offering households and businesses peace of mind by allowing them to generate their own energy at the most affordable prices ever.
The strong NZ dollar, coupled with the downward trending of solar panel manufacturing costs means that CPS Solar has secured their lowest ever import terms. So there’s never been a better time for households and businesses to consider high-output PV (photovoltaic) solar panel systems to generate their own energy.
Murray Marquet, Director of Canterbury based CPS Solar, says: ‘What we’re offering consumers is the ability to take control of their own energy supply for the next 30-40 years. All our Solar PV panels carry a 25 years warranty and it’s not unusual for them to be performing up to 40 years from installation. At a time when there’s much uncertainty over energy prices and ownership of the utility companies, our systems are proving to be extremely reassuring and cost-effective for our customers.’
CPS Solar has teamed their hi-tech solar panels with NZ-made Enasolar inverters. Inverters are necessary to convert the DC current generated from the sun’s energy to the AC current you use in your home or business. If you’re the tech-savvy type, Enasolar’s inverters can send real time and energy production and sunshine data wirelessly via a simple, user-friendly interface to either your desktop or smartphone! And that’s not all: ‘import-export’ meters record the energy produced from the PV panels or consumed from the grid. So, whenever a surplus is generated, effectively energy is sold back to the grid.
‘Although based in Christchurch, we service the whole of the South Island with our solar and alternative energy systems. We’ve just completed a 14-panel system on a family home in Clyde and we believe it to be the first Solar power generation system in the township. We expect the 3.2Kw system to provide the homeowner with 70-100% of their annual energy requirement.” Added Marquet.
Solar power means real reductions in overheads for families and businesses. The PV panel and inverter systems are ideal for mounting on homes, dairy sheds, school classrooms and warehouses, etc. and the company is experiencing high levels of demand from these sectors.
