Mortgage Link Strengthens Its Position in the Lower North Island

Mortgage Link, the national mortgage advisory group, is pleased to announce two new members to its Group - or more correctly one new adviser and one new business owner.

Paul Butler has recently joined our Mortgage Link Wanganui office, providing experienced support and new opportunities for the current business owner, Dorothy Barns. Paul joins the Wanganui office after some time spent overseas having spent 12 years as the Branch Manager of PSIS, Wanganui. Paul is excited about the opportunities becoming a Mortgage Link adviser will provide him with, and is looking forward to working in his home town and region to assist locals in their property purchases.

Dorothy has acknowledged Paul not only brings considerable experience and expertise, but also pathways into valuable new referral networks and greater depth in the ability of Mortgage Link Wanganui to support existing and future clients.

Chris Allum has been a Mortgage Link adviser for some time, providing a range of financial advisory services for the well known and highly regarded firm of chartered accountants based in Levin, Colbert Cooper. Chris has previously operated alongside our Mortgage Link Kapiti business but the partners of Colbert Cooper have revisited their strategies and were keen to take their own license. Already Chris has confirmed they are developing strategies to build on the considerable Colbert Cooper networks and client base as well as reestablishing contacts within the Horowhenua market.

Vicky Devine, Business Development Manager of Mortgage Link, said “We came to the view there is considerable benefit and future opportunity to accommodate the wishes of Colbert Cooper, and we look forward to working with them as they further develop their financial services activities.”

Rod Templeton, Chief Executive, said “We are very pleased to welcome our new adviser and new business owner to the Mortgage Link family. While it continues to be a demanding environment, with the ongoing influences of world financial markets, local property markets, the distractions of the Rugby World Cup (albeit very positive), Mortgage Link continues to promote its advice based relationships with its clients, looking to provide them with value”.
