FGC Congratulates Hansells on Today's Facility Opening

The Food and Grocery Council congratulates iconic New Zealand company Hansells on the opening of its new facility by the Prime Minister in Auckland today.

“The $18 million state of the art facility is a significant addition to New Zealand’s food production capacity and good news for the whole economy”, says Katherine Rich, Chief Executive of the New Zealand Food & Grocery Council.

“The Hansells Food Group is a Kiwi success story. From humble beginnings nearly eighty years ago it’s a company that continues to grow worldwide producing and marketing a range of innovative food products.

“With 60% of its food products exported to international markets, Hansells, like other members of FGC, continues to reinforce New Zealand’s international reputation as a safe source of high quality food.

“As the Prime Minister noted in his speech today, food and grocery companies like Hansells play a critical role in the New Zealand economy because they successfully add value to the very commodities our country is so good at producing.

“Today’s successful opening by the Prime Minister is a credit to Hansells’ CEO John McKay and his dedicated team.

“FGC would also like to pay tribute to Ross MacKenzie for his leadership role in the growth of Hansells and also the key part he continues to play within the wider grocery sector, Mrs Rich said.
