New location and new personnel for expanded Bayleys Kerikeri office
Leading real estate agency Bayleys Kerikeri is set to become the first property company in town… literally.
The agency is moving premises to a new location – and taking over a former competitor in the process.
Moving from a corner spot on the edge of Kerikeri’s one-way system in the main street, Bayleys is relocating its offices less than 100 metres away – to what was the former site of Harveys Real Estate beside the Caltex service station on the commercial edge of town at 41 Kerikeri Road.
Bayleys Kerikeri manager Jill White said the move was necessary for a number of reasons – including greater visibility among both buyers and vendors, better services for customers, and to allow the successful integration of the old Harveys business under the stronger Bayleys brand.
“We had simply outgrown our existing space with the amount of activity that has been emanating from the Bayleys sales team. When the option arose to not only move into larger premises, but acquire Harvey’s business at the same time, it was simply too good an opportunity to turn down,” Ms White said.
“The location on the edge of Kerikeri’s retail hub sees us now as the first real estate company to be found when coming from State Highway One. That will make Bayleys easier to find – particularly for out of town buyers unfamiliar with Kerikeri’s sometimes baffling one-way system.
“Moving from the corner location on Kerikeri Road also means our customers will now have more parking options out front… as well as considerably more parking spaces at the rear of the office. This is important as we are looking at holding more in-office auctions over the coming year, and require parking for potential bidders who will be attending.”
As a result of the takeover, former Harveys owner Chris White will join Bayleys stable of experienced sales personnel, and be joined by fellow Harveys colleague Cynthia Hedger.
Ms White said the pair had outstanding reputations in Kerikeri, Bay of Islands and the Hokianga, and would be valuable additions to Bayleys’ network of residential, lifestyle, rural, coastal and waterfront sales specialists.
An official ‘office launch’ drinks and nibbles function is planned over the coming few weeks once the Bayleys Kerikeri team has settled into its new ‘home’.
