Shaping the future of our capital markets
Market professionals will have the chance to examine the future of New Zealand’s capital markets alongside industry
heavyweights this October.
Representatives from organisations such as the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Financial Markets Authority, The Retirement
Commission and the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation lead the speaker line up at Conferenz’s first New Zealand
Capital Markets Conference.
Conference speaker Sam Stubbs, Chief Executive - Investments of default KiwiSaver provider TOWER, says the health of New
Zealand’s capital markets affects all Kiwis, making the discussion of critical national importance.
“The ever-increasing domestic capital raising potential of KiwiSaver, the Maori economy and private institutions is just
part of the overall equation,” said Sam Stubbs.
“We need to meet the challenge of enabling more of this growing capital pool to be invested across an enhanced range of
high quality, commercially viable opportunities right here in New Zealand – that’s why the industry must have this
conversation,” he continued.
Market participants will also have the chance to learn about best practice in portfolio management, corporate governance
and financial literacy.
The New Zealand Capital Markets Conference will take place from 31 October to 1 November 2011 in Wellington.
