Symantec Appoints Brenton Smith as Vice President
Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced the appointment of Brenton Smith as Vice President of the Symantec.cloud business in Asia Pacific and Japan. Symantec.cloud offers businesses a portfolio of cloud-based applications to help secure and manage their businesses. Information stored on laptops, mobile and desktop devices are fully protected with an easy to use, cost effective range of Symantec.cloud solutions.
Richard Collins, vice president, global sales, Symantec.cloud says Brenton’s extensive experience across the region makes him a great fit for the role.
“With more than 20 years’ experience spanning Asia Pacific across a number of multinational IT application and software vendors, Brenton has the knowledge and expertise to lead the continued growth of Symantec’s cloud business in the Asia Pacific and Japan region,” said Richard.

Brenton will be responsible for working with our sales team and channel partners to offer customers the simplest, market leading, security cloud platform to enable customers to trust us with their information security and management so that they can focus on running their business.”

Brenton joins Symantec.cloud from CA Technologies where most recently he was managing director for Australia and New Zealand. Brenton’s Asia Pacific experience spans Thailand, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. He has also held a number of management and sales development roles at BusinessObjects, Siebel Systems, Brightstar Information Technology Group and SAP.
