Anexa / Animal Health Centre joins DairyNZ partnership
Waikato veterinary group Anexa / Animal Health Centre is now working with DairyNZ on a project geared at improving the performance of dairy farm businesses, through the development of an advisory service business model for vet clinics.
DairyNZ reported, in the August issue of Inside Dairy, that vets' understanding of animal health and performance makes them ideal to work alongside farmers and farm staff throughout DairyNZ programmes targeting reproduction, mastitis or lameness improvements.
Anexa / Animal Health Centre already has a number of vets focused on advisory work, with Andy Collier and Katrina Roberts working full-time in this area and many other vets combining clinical work with advisory work. They have vets trained as InCalf advisors, Health Hoof advisors and Advanced Mastitis accredited providers.
"This pilot partnership with DairyNZ will enable us to further develop our resources in this area with the goal remaining to be an effective valuable advisor to all clients. Our dairy clients can hugely benefit from this improved service supporting and improving the animal performance of their herd in reproduction, lameness and milk quality" says CEO Terry Youngman.
