PSIS Renews Contract with Unisys to Support Delivery of Critical Banking Services to New Zealand Customers

Unisys continues to provide New Zealand financial services cooperative with hosting, data centre hardware support, disaster recovery and internet banking security services

Unisys Corporation (NYSE:UIS) today announced that its New Zealand subsidiary has received a three-year renewal of its agreement to provide IT services to financial services cooperative PSIS. The Unisys services will support delivery of critical banking services to PSIS customers both online and from PSIS’ 32 physical locations.

The services to continue to be delivered under the contract include ClearPath and ES7000 servers and other data centre hardware support, disaster recovery hosting and services, and security monitoring of PSIS’ internet banking channel.

“At PSIS our customers are also our shareholders, so our aim is to provide consistent and reliable services that they can depend upon to protect their financial assets. We have worked closely with Unisys since 1967 to develop an IT infrastructure that combines flexibility and dependability to support that aim as the banking industry evolves and the economic environment in which we operate changes,” said Annette Natta, general manager of Information Services at PSIS.

The renewal represents the latest stage in the 44-year business relationship between the two companies. In addition to IT support services, PSIS relies on Unisys for its mission-critical IT infrastructure based on the Unisys ClearPath server environment.

Most recently, Unisys has been assisting PSIS to implement a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solution to help PSIS improve the efficiency of its applications and enhance services to its customers. So far this project has included implementing new lending and transaction modules, and future work will include back office transactions such as automatic payments, card processing and direct debits.
