Lodges of New Zealand develops distinctive Gift Registry

A toaster from the wedding gift list is no longer going to 'cut it' with brides and grooms thanks to the launch of a unique gift registry service available only at some of New Zealand's most exclusive lodges.

Lodges of New Zealand has launched a user-friendly gift registry as an extension of the popular 'tailor-made' gift voucher service that started late last year.

The registry enables users to build a fund and invite others to contribute over a period of time. The total in the pool is gifted to the recipient in the form of vouchers* that can be used to stay at any of its 22 luxury lodges.

This gift registry is managed online at the Lodges of New Zealand website - www.lodgesofnz.co.nz, and has been designed to appeal to two markets - a wedding couple keen on a luxury honeymoon or anniversary visit to one of the lodges, and people who want to contribute to a gift for any occasion.

Lodges of New Zealand chairperson Colleen Ryan said the idea of the registry was to make it easy for people to get together with friends and family to collectively contribute to a truly worthwhile gift.

"The registry is obviously ideal for a wedding or honeymoon gift registry. The bride and groom can direct guests to our website where they can contribute as much or as little as they like," she said.

"On the other hand, people can email a group of friends through our website and invite them to contribute to a general registry for a retirement, anniversary, 50th birthday or thank-you gift. The list is endless.

"The application of the registry is unlimited and there's no postage."

The process of advising guests or those contributing to a registry is all made easy on the Lodges of New Zealand website.

"Payment and collation is all via the website so it's simple for people to keep track," said Ms Ryan.

Once the contribution timeframe ends, a bottle of bubbles to help the recipient celebrate is delivered with the voucher.

The vouchers are flexible enough to enable multiple use across a range of properties.

"This way, you leave it all up to the person on the receiving end - they can select a lodge in any of our exquisite locations, perhaps even embark on a road trip taking in a few. Imagine receiving a voucher worth hundreds or thousands of dollars and having 22 of New Zealand's most prestigious lodges to choose from," said Ms Ryan.

Experiencing a stay at one of the prestigious lodges is a highlight for even the most well travelled. They can choose their preferred outstanding location, dates to suit their schedule and be hosted by people who care about them and their individual needs.
