90% of Workers Ratify Employment Agreement
Sealord Group has announced the ratification of a multi-year collective employment agreement at the Sealord Vickerman St site in Nelson. More than 90% of staff voted in favour of the proposed collective agreement.
“Such a positive vote provides us with a firm platform for growth and considerable momentum for the New Year,” says Shane Norton, Sealord’s Operations Manager.
Along with a 3% wage increase effective 31 January 2011 and increases in subsequent years, the renewed agreement provides for increased flexibility to meet future production and market opportunities.
“This is all about our people. We still have some challenges ahead to ensure that we remain competitive. This deal places us in a good position with our people to achieve this,” says Norton.
