Telecom Confirms Options For iPad
Users
Telecom is encouraging people to connect their iPad with a Telecom microSIM. The XT Network offers customers value, competitive prices on mobile data plans and consistent 3G data coverage in more places around New Zealand.
For $29.95 per month, XT customers can get 500 megabytes worth of data or for $18 per month customers can get a total of 240MB. These options are available on both Prepaid or on an open term postpaid plan
From next week, Telecom will also be offering micro-SIM cards to XT customers to make it easier for them to use the latest Smartphone and notebook devices.
iPad users who sign up to the 500MB postpaid plan will receive a free micro-SIM. The micro-SIMs are expected in most stores as early as Monday and nationwide from Wednesday.
Prepaid customers on the 500MB plan get at least 25% bonus top up per month and postpaid customers on open term on this plan will save $10 per month compared with the Vodafone equivalent.
Telecom Head of Marketing Management, Paul Taylor says, “Of course, we’ll also continue to offer a 2GB and 4GB data plan for those avid data consumers.”
“Users who have purchased iPads abroad along with travellers roaming on our network already report that the iPad 3G works incredibly well on Telecom’s XT network.
“Our XT network will offer iPad users consistent 3G service rather than the device having to switch between different technologies on other networks which will mean greater speed differences for the iPad customer, depending on where they are,” says Mr Taylor.
Telecom also has the latest WiFi technology for those using the iPad at home – as well as home broadband plans to suit household needs.
