Lyttelton Port adds land to inland facility

July 1 (BusinessDesk) - Lyttelton Port of Christchurch Ltd is buying 7.3 hectares of industrial land next to its existing "inland port" infrastructure , six kilometres from the port facility itself.

“The operation at CityDepot has grown significantly over the last year through the addition of a number of new customers. This investment recognises the need for more land strategically located for the long term, which will enhance the logistics options for our customers,” the company said in a statement to the NZX after close of trading.

No value was given for the "multi-million dollar" purchase.

CityDepot currently has capacity to store up to 7,000 containers.

Lyttelton Port shares were untraded yesterday at $2.32.
