Determined to keep supporting the All Blacks and continuing to break new ground in social media, contemporary wine brand
Torea is launching the Twedisloe Cup.
Confirmed this week, Torea is delighted that Australian wine company Teusner has accepted the challenge. Stuart Smith of
Torea explains, “With the Bledisloe Cup already safely in the hands of the All Blacks, we wanted to add a little more
interest to this final game.”
The Twedisloe Cup is a competition between two wine producers, Torea in New Zealand and Teusner in Australia, to see who
can command the most vocal support for their rugby team on twitter in the lead up to the final All Blacks – Wallabies
match being played on Saturday 31 October in Tokyo. Torea will again lead the twaka (the haka performed on twitter)
while Teusner will lead choruses of Waltzing Matwilda.
The event will be organised from Torea’s blog http://toreawines.wordpress.com/and has a twitvite for people to register
their support in advance. The twitvite reads, ‘Support the Torea twaka or the Teusner twilda in the Twedisloe Cup,
Friday 30th of October at 2pm NZ time.’
Both Torea and Teusner have agreed that should their team lose, they will donate a case of wine to the victor’s charity
of choice, for Torea, this will be the Marlborough Hospice.
Stuart Smith explains, “All this is done in good spirit to help support each team and allow collaboration and
participation online. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”
