Stuff Goes Mobile - Get Stuff Wherever You Go.
April 21, 2009
Stuff.co.nz today launched a mobile version of its popular news site, allowing readers to access the latest news on the go. The mobile phone site, m.stuff.co.nz, includes all Stuff's primary news sections including top news, national, world, business, technology, sport, entertainment, life and style and weather.
Fairfax Media's Group Head of Digital, Stephen Smith says that Stuff is a daily resource for thousands of New Zealanders via their computer screens.
"Through the release of the tailored mobile site we enable readers to have fast, easy access to the best in news, information and entertainment wherever they may be."
Coverage of devices has increased from around 60 to over 200 different types of handset and this is expected to increase as mobile upgrades continue to grow.
"With the advent of enhanced mobile devices such as the iPhone and various Blackberry handsets, there has been an increased number accessing the main Stuff website and increased feedback from users inquiring about the existence of a light mobile version," says Smith.
"The launch of the mobile version of the site enables readers to view their news source in an efficient, cost effective way."
The mobile site has been designed to work on a wide range of handsets making it accessible to as many readers as possible.
Stuff.co.nz was first for mobile news in New Zealand when it partnered with Vodafone in 2003, providing the news source for Vodafone live! users, and is taking it to the next step as monthly mobile usage grows.
