A major public wine tasting
Taste 40 Pinot Noir’s from the Central Otago Pinot Noir Celebration
Wine Tastes are pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural “People’s Pinot”.
“The People’s Pinot” is a special wine tasting event that will allow the public and visitors to Queenstown to taste the latest release
Pinot Noirs from 40 Central Otago wineries. These are the same wines that will be tasted as part of the “Grand Central
Otago Pinot Tasting” during the 2009 Central Otago Pinot Noir Celebration.
“The People’s Pinot” tasting will run FOR ONE WEEK ONLY from Friday 23rd to Saturday 31st January 2009 at Wine Tastes, 14 Beach Street in Queenstown.
During the week the public will have the opportunity to vote for their “Top 3” Pinot Noirs. The voting results will be
collated prior to the closing of the Pinot Celebration to identify “the People’s Pinot”! This will provide interesting
insights into the styles and characteristics of what is currently appealing to wine consumers.

premier wine events, and a not to be missed date on the international Pinot Noir calendar. The Celebration brings
together the wine world’s leading writers and commentators such as Jancis Robinson MW, together with wine and food
enthusiasts to experience Central Otago’s best wine, cuisine and sights. The Celebration will be held over two full days
on the 30th and 31st January 2009.
