New Chancellor appointed for St John
Garry Wilson, former CEO of the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC), has been appointed Chancellor-Elect of St John.
Mr Wilson is chairman of the Wellington City Mission, a trustee of Ambulance New Zealand and chair of the Northern DHB Regional Governance Group. He is a board member of Housing New Zealand Corporation and former deputy chairman of Wellington Free Ambulance.
The retiring Chancellor of St John, Rob Fenwick, said St John is delighted Mr Wilson has been selected to lead the organisation.
“Garry has had a distinguished career in the public service, has a real understanding of the key role St John plays in the delivery of New Zealand’s ambulance services and, in his former roles as CEO of ACC and a board member of Wellington Free Ambulance, understands the crucial role New Zealand’s ambulance services play in supporting the health needs of New Zealanders.
“Garry has now chosen to devote his time to a combination of volunteer organisations and health sector governance roles, and we are honoured that he has agreed to take this leadership role in St John,” Mr Fenwick said.
Mr Wilson will assume the Chancellorship early in the New Year.
