Flights To Resume From Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport On Friday 5 December 2008
Singapore Airlines plans the resumption of flights to and from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport from tomorrow [Friday 5
December 2008]. The first flight from Suvarnabhumi will depart for Singapore at 13:05 local time, Friday afternoon.
As a consequence, additional relief flights from U-Tapao will cease from tonight. Singapore Airlines is contacting
customers who are booked to travel from U-Tapao on Friday to advise them of the change. However, customers are asked to
be patient as Suvarnabhumi only re-opens for service on Friday, and some delays may be expected.
SilkAir is also reducing its additional flights between Phuket and Singapore to one per day (on top of the daily
schedule of at least four flights), as capacity increases from Bangkok and demand for its relief flights tapers off.
These additional flights will continue till Sunday 7 December.
On Friday, Singapore Airlines plans three return flights between Singapore and Bangkok, plus one flight from Singapore
to Bangkok then on to Tokyo Narita.
From Saturday onwards, a three-times-daily return flight will operate, in addition to a flight in each direction between
Bangkok and Tokyo Narita.
Singapore Airlines will monitor demand in coming days to determine whether the capacity is in line with demand, and may
make further schedule adjustments.
Customers affected by the flight changes should contact Singapore Airlines on +66 2 353 6000 (in Bangkok), +65 6223 8888
(in Singapore) or their travel agent or local Singapore Airlines office to reconfirm their forward travel plans.
