Inclusive approach good for business
The inclusive approach to support party arrangements and Cabinet appointments by Prime Minister-elect John Key are a good portent for stable business, says Business NZ.
Chief Executive Phil O’Reilly says key business-related portfolios are located in top slots within Cabinet, including trade, infrastructure, energy & resources, climate change issues, research, science & technology, communications & information technology, and tourism.
“Given the pressing need for business innovation to compete in today’s changing world, this lineup is heartening.
“Business is also impressed by the new government’s reaching out to both ends of the political spectrum for support parties. A broad-based, inclusive approach is healthy for a stable business environment.”
